Time to kick ass and chew bubble gum... and I'm all out of gum.

That's right boys and girls, after 13 years in development limbo, Duke Nukem Forever may finally stand a chance at reaching the shelves of a GameStop near you. The opportunity to relive childhood memories of gratuitous violence and golden one-liner quips has me giddier than a 14 year old school girl after half a Smirnoff Ice (this blog does not condone underage drinking, for the record).

But I've been hurt before, and I don't know if I'm quite ready to trust again. Over the years 3D Realms has broken countless release date promises before finally showing their fan base a colossal middle finger by claiming it would be done, "when it was done". But, alas, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. 2K Games (Elder Scrolls, Prey, Civilization, and *moment of silence* Bioshock) has passed the now lukewarm hot potato to Gearbox Software. That's right, THE Gearbox. Think Brothers in Arms, Borderlands, PC adaptations of Halo and Counter Strike, and of course, the sprawling Half-Life series. But only time will tell for sure if our hopes are well founded.

Check it out for yourselves HERE (sorry no screen shots or footage yet, I'll update once I've found some.)

I want to believe...
